Free exercise videos for older adults

168 videos made for older adults, or for conditions common in later life — arthritis, osteoporosis, Parkinson’s, heart and lung conditions, and falls. Most come from physiotherapists, health services (the NHS, the US National Institute on Aging, Age UK branches, YMCAs) and the condition’s own charity, and each one was checked against the video itself.

The NHS advises adults over 65 to be active every day, to do activities that improve strength, balance and flexibility on at least two days a week, and to build up to 150 minutes of moderate activity a week (NHS). The World Health Organization suggests varied activity that focuses on balance and strength on three or more days a week, to help prevent falls (WHO 2020).

New to exercise, unsteady on your feet, or living with a heart condition or a new joint? Start with a seated or chair-supported session, and ask your doctor or physiotherapist which suit you.

The videos belong to the people who made them and play from YouTube. The titles and notes are Notbroken’s own, written from what each teacher actually does. General instruction, not advice for your body: warm up, take the easier options, and stop if a move hurts sharply or you feel chest pain or dizziness. About & safety
