Step by step 7

Tap a time to watch that step in the video.

  1. Side step-drag: step open, shift your weight, then drag the other foot in on its toes. 0:32
  2. Add a twist towards the stepping foot, coming back to centre as the foot drags in. 1:30
  3. Backward step-touch: small steps back, touching the toes beside, angling the body each way. 2:33
  4. Add the arms: scoop them up to the sides for two steps, then hold them loosely for two. 3:35
  5. Forward and back: step forward, touch together, step back, touch together. 4:33
  6. Add a small lean forward and back so your torso isn't stiff. 5:12
  7. Arms: add little snaps in different places, letting the arms move freely in between. 5:45

The steps are a summary in our words, checked against the video — the coach shows every move.

Form cues from the coach

  • Step just over shoulder width so you can draw the other foot in without losing balance
  • Keep the backward steps small so you don't travel far
  • Keep the arms loosely bent and let them bounce with your body
