Tap a time to watch that step in the video.

  1. Step in place: bend one knee so the hip drops, then step and shift your weight to that side. 0:35
  2. Keep the hips centred, not pushed forward, and the knees relaxed so the hips move freely. 2:09
  3. Rock: one foot rocks forward and back while the other steps in place, right then left. 3:39
  4. Walk: travel forward with the merengue march, then four steps forward and four back. 6:21
  5. Forward and together: small, quick steps forward and together, then back and together. 9:04
  6. Turn: turn on the spot with tiny marching steps over eight counts, to each side. 11:05
  7. Dance all five steps to merengue music. 14:20

The steps are a summary in our words, checked against the video — the coach shows every move.
