Abstain counts the days you stay off something — alcohol, nicotine, caffeine, soft drinks, sugar, junk food, drugs, gambling, anything — or keep something up, like ketosis, sleep or exercise, and shows what the evidence says is changing in your body as the days add up.
- It does not give medical advice or treatment, and it is not a substitute for a doctor, a drug and alcohol service or a support group.
- Stopping alcohol, benzodiazepines (sleeping or anxiety tablets) or opioids suddenly after heavy daily use can be dangerous. Talk to a doctor first — they can help you come off safely. The same goes for starting a ketogenic diet if you take insulin or other diabetes medicines.
- Everything you enter stays on this device. Nothing is uploaded. Use Backup now and then — clearing your browser data deletes your streaks.
- If you feel unsafe or in crisis, contact your local emergency number or a crisis line now (list of helplines).
Intended for adults (18+). See the Abstain guide, privacy policy and terms of use.
