5-Minute Neck Mobility Drill: Turns, Tilts, Glides and Circles

Video by Mark Wildman on YouTube · Open on YouTube

Trainer Mark Wildman leads a short follow-along for the neck: turns, side tilts, looking up and down, forward-back and side-to-side head glides, then slow half and full circles, always aiming to grow taller. He stresses drawing the head back, the opposite of looking down at a phone.

  1. Turns: look left and right, growing taller, only to the edge of discomfort, never into pain. 0:23
  2. Side tilts: lift the opposite ear towards the sky rather than dropping the ear to the shoulder. 0:52
  3. Look up and down, tucking the chin as you look down so the back of the neck stays long. 1:22
  4. Glides: draw the head forward and back with the eyes level, then side to side led by the jaw. 1:53
  5. Half circles across the front: lift one ear, chin to chest, lift the other ear, changing direction. 2:52
  6. Full circles, slowly clockwise then the other way, getting taller at every point. 3:22

The steps are a summary in our words, checked against the video — the coach shows every move.
