How these were chosen

Good teachers, checked twice

  • Who. Every video is free on YouTube and taught by a qualified or well-established instructor — certified trainers, physiotherapists, licensed Zumba instructors, dance companies, yoga, pilates and tai chi teachers, and health services.
  • Checked. Each one was watched through its transcript, chapters and frames; the summary, the form cues and the body areas are written in our own words from what the instructor actually teaches, then a second, independent check confirmed every detail against the video. Videos with pain-pushing, shock challenges, diet or supplement selling, or explicit music were left out.
  • Body areas are what a video works or stretches most. A short list means a focused video (marked Targets when you pick that area); a whole-body session lists the areas that get real work.
  • Level. Beginner is a true starting point with easier options; All levels means the instructor shows options for each level. Low impact means no jumping — seated, standing, floor or gentle stepping.

Move safely. Warm up first, take the easier options until a move feels easy, and go at your own pace. Stop and get help for chest pain or pressure, severe breathlessness, dizziness, or pain spreading to the neck, jaw or arm; sharp joint pain means stop. If you have a heart condition, uncontrolled blood pressure, diabetes with complications, joint or balance problems, are pregnant, are recovering from an injury or surgery, or have not been active for a long time, ask your doctor or physiotherapist which kinds of exercise suit you. These videos are general instruction, not advice for your body.
